My Saint for 2013

Last year Allison from Totus Tuus Family & Catholic Homeschool was kind enough to choose a Saint for me.

This year, due to my present Blessed state, I have chosen San Ramon Nonato as My Saint for the year.

San Ramon No Nato

I have shared briefly with you about him before here.

However, I found an AMAZING Page.

San Ramon Nonato Shrine.  It goes into great detail.  If you have a minute, check it out!

Briefly though:

SAINT RAYMOND NONNATUS (in Spanish, San Ramon Nonato) was born in 1204 (2) in the Diocese of Urgel in Catalonia, Spain. He was called “Nonnatus” (from the Latin non natus) meaning “not born,” because of his unusual birth. He was taken from the side of his mother who died many hours before his delivery. Because of his miraculous birth by caesarian section, he is universally invoked as patron of midwives, and more importantly, as patron of expectant mothers or women in labor, and as protector of the unborn.

And this is why he is my Saint this year! 🙂

Truth be told, shameful as this is, I started his Novena and stopped, sooooo, I must start it again!

Happy Jr. Friday!
