Our Guardian Angel

As you can tell, well, if you scroll down, I am a bit partial to Our Guardian Angels.

I wanted to ensure we would remember them on this, their Feast Day, no matter what our Mother Tongue.

This has to be the first Prayer my Mami ever taught us.

Ángel de la Guarda,
Dulce Compañía,
no me desampares
ni de noche,
ni de día.

There are a couple of other similar versions that add on at the end:

Hasta ponerme en la presencía de
Jesús, Jose y Maria.

or something to that effect.

My whole life I have been told over and over how present, active and over-worked my Guardian Angel is!

As an Adult – in age, definitely not in behaviour – I have let go of my Prayer to my Guardian Angel.

I have taught it to my kids, but I have not really prayed it for myself…

I am not proud of this fact…but on this day, their Feast Day, I realize this.

Did you know that if you know you will be confronted with someone that is in a bad mood, or angry at you, or you know that you are about to engage in a difficult conversation/confrontation, all you need to do is pray an Our Father to that person’s Guardian Angel and it is easier?!

Our Lord loves us so much, that each and every one of us has been assigned a Guardian Angel.

ALL OF US!

However, they cannot go against our Human Will.

They cannot actively intervene, unless ask for their assistance.  And even then, it is up to us to pay attention in order to hear, read, observe their guidance.
You must be hyper-aware of “coincidences,” dreams, a gut feeling, to our intuition, it is them speaking to us!  Remember, they are here to guide and help us on our Earthly Journey.

BUT they cannot bring us, force us down the straight and narrow…we must choose that path!

Again, they are our guides, seek out your Guardian Angel’s help…

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

As Saint John Bosco said:

When tempted, invoke your Angel. he is more eager to help you than you are to be helped! Ignore the devil and do not be afraid of him: He trembles and flees at the sight of your Guardian Angel.

Oh!  And before I forget, I found this “Adult” Prayer in Español:

Ángel del Señor,
que por orden de su piadosa providencia eres mi guardián,
custódiame en este día (o en esta noche)
ilumina mi entendimiento,
dirige mis afectos,
gobierna mis sentimientos,
para que jamás ofenda a Dios.
Amen.

May on this day, we ALL remember our Overworked, Always Attentive, Faithful Partner, Our Guardian Angel.

Amen ♥
