The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe – Empress of the Americas

December 12 is the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  I won’t go into the entire story, but for those that are not familiar with it, a quick google search will bring up several dozen sites on the Internet.  Many retell the miraculous story as it is known to Catholics and some will claim it as an elaborate Hoax.  Like the Shroud of Turin there are many doubters and skeptics.  It’s easier to write off as a Hoax because then it would mean that we wouldn’t have to follow in Jesus’ footsteps.

Instead, We can go on living our guilt-free and care-free lives not worrying about the consequences.  There is a lot of evidence surrounding the Image,  at the end of the day it is really up to Ourselves to decide.

For myself, I believe that the Miracle is genuine, but not only because of it’s miraculous origin, but…

Year of Mercy

“Even if the Holy Door closes, the true door of mercy, which is the heart of Christ, always remains open for us,” Pope Francis said Sunday in a Mass marking the formal close of his jubilee Year of Mercy. “God has no memory of sin, but only of us, of each of us, we who are his beloved children.”
